I was born and raised in West Lancashire in a small village not too far from the coast near Southport. In 2000 I moved to South East London where I met my wife, before moving back to Lancashire in 2015.
As is the case for most people, my photography started off as a hobby, mainly consisting of holiday shots of friends and family using a point and shoot camera, but has since progressed into a full blown obsession. My wife will vouch for that!
When I started out, I always had a vision of the kind of photographs I wanted to take, but I was getting nowhere with the equitment I had. On my 30th birthday, I decided to try and up my game and bought my first D-SLR, with birthday money I received from friends and family. It was a daunting prospect as the cost involved is high and my knowledge of using an SLR was nonexistent!
Needless to say it was a steep learning curve, but with perseverance and determination I managed to get my head around the basics and off I went traveling around the UK, trying to capture what I consider to be the most beautiful scenery in the world.
Over the years I have learned a massive amount about photography, but there is still a long way to go. I manage to learn something new every time I go out with my camera, which is part of the attraction for me. I don't think you ever get to a point where you know everything about it. It's just too diverse and complex.
As you will see on the site, my favourite forms of photography are Fine Art Landscape and Daytime Long Exposure photgraphy.
